Throughout the year we highlight several ads and campaigns from local and global companies. Usually we highlight based on the creative approach, the inspiration, or even what got people talking in person and on social media platforms. Here’s our top 5 ads of the year.

#5. Audi’s “Daughter” from Venables Bell & Partners

The ad focuses on a race between children featuring an uncommon protagonist, a little girl. A voice over of her father asking himself questions about her future narrates her winning the race against her peers. The ad calls out the debated wage-gap amongst males and females in several industries.

#4. Apple’s “Earth” from TBWA\Media Arts Lab

Apple’s “Earth” is the most recent ad on our list, first airing during the NBA Finals. The spot takes audiences to several beautiful scenes around the world, all through the lens of an Apple iPhone. Combine that with the voice over from the late astronomer Carl Sagan, and it’s all too easy to fall in love with “Earth.”

#3. H&M’s “Come Together” from Wes Anderson and Adam and Eve/DDB

We’ve all missed a holiday or two, on purpose or due to the mercies of nature. “Come Together” highlights that holidays can happen anywhere and with anyone given the right touch of magic.

#2. Samsung Mobile’s “Ostrich” from Leo Burnett

With breath-taking visuals, a soft punch straight to the “feels,” and one of Elton John’s greatest hits, “Ostrich” makes you want to experience the Samsung VR and let your wings soar.

#1. “Fearless Girl”

Regardless if you love or hate “Fearless Girl,” you can’t argue that the statue didn’t get people discussing women’s roles in senior positions in major companies. Although it’s not an ad, the statue added spark to the discussion and continues to maintain relevance. Every creator, regardless of gender and industry, wants that for their clients’ campaigns and their art.
